About Michael Oilar

The Full Story

A 3 time award winning entertainment professional based in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Michael has extreme versatility in a multitude of projects, and is always looking for exciting new opportunities that force him to think outside the box. He loves using his creative mind in new ways, and is constantly looking for new sources of inspiration to stay on top of what’s happening. In 2021, Michael received his first Best Actor for the short film "Machine Learning" from the Golden Reel International Film Festival, and was a nominee for Best Actor in the Red Film Festival for the role as well. In 2024, he received his second acting award from the Independent Short Awards, as Best Duo for the short film "Mandje." In 2025, he accepted his third best actor award from the MLC Awards for his performance in "Angel Of Light."

Currently, Michael appears in several films on Amazon, including "One By One," "Stand In The Gap," "Moving In," "Good Enough" and various series. He is featured in the upcoming Fathom Event theatrical release "The American Miracle" portraying Christopher Gist. Current TV Pilots in post production include "Actress Mom" and "We Are Hunted."

Michael began his acting career in the summer of 2019 as a background actor in Chicago. He has had the opportunity to work on Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Empire, Power: Book IV Force, 61st Street, Lovecraft Country, Emily In Paris, Fargo, Run, Utopia, NeXt, Work In Progress and several other Chicago based network series.

Once comfortable in front of the camera, he transitioned to student films. His first full length feature was "What If There Be Thorns," in 2019, which made one stop in Memphis on the festival circuit before the pandemic ended it's run. From there he was cast in a 3 part web series "The Killer's Club." Since then, he has appeared in several independent series, short films and feature films.
